What is Eel-Russian Project Authority?
The Eel-Russian Project Authority is a joint powers authority formed in 2023 to develop infrastructure that will maintain seasonal water diversions from the Eel River to the Russian River after PG&E ends that crucial flow. It’s governed by a five-member Board of Directors consisting of representatives from the County of Sonoma, Sonoma County Water Agency (Sonoma Water), Mendocino County Inland Water and Power Commission and Round Valley Indian Tribes.
See the fact sheets below for more details about the Eel-Russian Project Authority, the New Eel-Russian Facility and how future Eel River diversions might affect the Russian River water supply.
